Dr. Nancy Tsai is the founder of Advanced Eye Physician and has been practicing Ophthalmology since 1996. Established first as a solo practice in 2001 at Chinatown and later expanded into a two-location group practice with the addition of the Flushing office in 2005, she has become a well-known name in both communities she serves. Dr. Tsai commenced her medical degree at New York Medical College and also completed her postgraduate training here at the Department of Ophthalmology where she was nominated as Chief Resident. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Currently, she is an attending surgeon at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Her long-time passion and expertise is in premium femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, glaucoma laser treatment, and pterygium surgery. She also has a particular interest in dry eye treatment, and skin rejuvenation with Intense Pulse Light therapy and ResurFX technology.

Dr. Agemy is a board certified ophthalmologist and specializes in medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association in Research of Vision and Ophthalmology. He has expertise in diagnosing and managing diseases of the retina including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and all other retinal vascular diseases. He has a special interest in the surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases including macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and complex retinal detachments. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine after graduating from Michigan State University. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute/Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. As a resident, Dr. Agemy was an Ambassador to the American Academy of Ophthalmology in Washington DC, advocating to congress on behalf of the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He was also chosen to be Chief Resident during his residency, an honor bestowed on him by his peers and the department’s chairman. Following residency, Dr. Agemy completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

An experienced ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, Dr. Raphael Castillo grew up in Florida having completed his undergraduate studies from Florida International University and his medical degree from The Howard University College of Medicine. He volunteered, taught and was involved in research before and during medical school in Washington, DC.
Next, he was accepted into Ophthalmology Residency where he received his specialty training and performed clinical research. he completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and a residency in ophthalmology at Howard University Hospital. After a post-graduate Uveitis/Retina clinical and research position, he completed a Retina fellowship at NYU in 2005 and remained to teach at NYU; Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital; Faculty at SUNY Optometry; and the trauma service at NYEEI. Subsequently, he arrived in private practice after serving as chief of ophthalmology at NYU-affiliated Woodhull Hospital, where he taught eye surgery to residents in training, specifically retinal and cataract surgery.
Doctor Castillo has participated in humanitarian missions globally over his career and is active in the community. He has practiced in New York as a surgeon/eye care specialist for almost two decades, specializing and continuing to focus on cataract surgery, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease, macular degeneration, and vascular diseases of the retina.

Dr. Jing earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. Earlier in his career, he received a medical doctor degree and a PhD in ophthalmology in China. For 10 years, he practiced as an ophthalmologist at the renowned Henan Eye Institute in the city of Zhengzhou, followed by a ophthalmic genetic researcher at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Jing offers both diagnostic and therapeutic services, including treatment for diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and cataracts. He also provides surgical co-management. Dr. Jing is especially passionate about children’s eye care, particularly myopia control. As a specialist in orthokeratology and a member of the esteemed American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, Dr. Jing is knowledgeable about Ortho-K contact lenses and other specialty products for children with myopia.
As a clinician-scientist specializing in inherited ocular disorders, ocular imaging, and eye disease screening, Dr. Jing has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in top ophthalmology journals. He has also given dozens of presentations and lectures nationally and internationally.

Dr. Yang Jing speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.

Dr. Pauline Huang is a board certified optometrist. She graduated with honors at New England College Optometry in 2004 and obtained her optometrist degree. After, she gained externship experience at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of Florida. She loves to travel and has practiced in many different eye institutions such as South Boston Community Health Center, New England Eye Institute and Hudson Valley Veterans Affairs in New York. She has practiced in various private practices. Her passions include myopia control and orthokeratology (CRT), which she is certified in.
